There is something truly special about an evening spent among people united by a shared mission and on 31 July 2025, the SMACF Board Appreciation Dinner perfectly embodied this spirit.

Set in the inviting ambiance of The Chinese Restaurant at Raffles Town Club, the dinner brought together members of the SMACF Board, SMA President Dr Ng Chee Kwan, and our dedicated SMACF team. These are individuals who not only champion the Fund’s work but carry the heart of our mission forward with passion and dedication.

The evening began on a purposeful note with the SMACF Board gathered for the second board meeting of the year, receiving updates on the Fund’s financial health and the upcoming bursary application window opening on 1 August 2025. This meeting not only provided a clear snapshot of the Fund’s current status but also set the tone for the collective efforts to be sustained throughout the year. The discussion was constructive and energizing, reinforcing our shared vision and commitment, a meaningful prelude to the evening ahead.

Following the meeting, the group paused for a photo, a simple yet powerful moment that captured more than just smiles; it reflected the collective spirit that fuels the SMA Charity Fund. This unity is the cornerstone of all that we achieve together.

Dr Chong Yeh Woei, SMACF Chairperson, also took a moment to raise a toast and acknowledge the meaningful work of the Fund. His words served as a heartfelt reminder of why we gather and to honour the impact we have made together and to reaffirm our shared commitment to supporting the next generation of doctors.

As the dishes arrived, what stood out most was not the grandeur of the restaurant or the elegance of the cuisine, but the sincerity in every conversation. There was laughter, warmth, and the unmistakable energy of shared values among the like-minded individuals committed to shaping the future of medicine in Singapore.

In these moments, the true essence of SMACF comes alive, a fund creating pathways where barriers once stood. As we look ahead, it is this collective strength and unwavering support that will continue to light the way for the medical students who carry the future of healthcare in their hands.
